Lucky Christmas is the story of Holly Ceroni, a single mom trying to get back on her feet, but who is crushed to learn her winning lottery ticket is in the glove compartment of her recently stolen car. Mike Ronowski, the construction worker behind Holly's missing property, goes along with a master plan to befriend Holly and coerce her into giving him half of her winnings. Mike unexpectedly falls in love with Holly and learns there are more important things in life than quick money in time for the holidays.
Just like every Christmas movie, this too was heartwarming. We meet Holly, played by Elizabeth Berkley, whom is buying a lottery ticket in hopes. Lucky for her she has a routine of kissing it which leaves a mark making it hard for the whoever has it to turn it in, that and going on the news. Yep she loses it but not on purpose instead it was more like stolen.
One night she goes to hangout with a friend at a bar, inside the bar we see two other main characters of the movie (and I love them.....so funny). They're guys who work for construction and they happen to burn down one of the houses they were building, yep, funny moment right there. And they've got to get back ahead by Christmas and get $50,000 dollars or Mike's friend gets fired.
Mike, the main guy played by Jason Gray-Stanford, isn't feeling so good so his friend takes him home. When they get outside of the bar, in the parking lot his friend finds that his truck is booted and he swores he payed the tickets. After kicking the tire he sees a set of keys on the ground and picks them up. Pushing a button he sees they belong to the car next to them and this is where Holly loses her car.
Mikes wakes up in the car the next morning and finds that his friend forgot to take it back. Mike tells him to return it but his friend (sorry I forgot his name) lost the keys, yea, he isn't the brightest. So, while searching they hear on the TV the girl, they stole the car from, won the lotto. This is when the friend gets a crazy idea.
"She's a chef, they make a ton of money. She probably got her own show on the food network."
"She drives a 91 volvo."
"Rich people do that, makes them feel like us little people."
I loved the characters especially the friend (god, I can't believe I forgot his name). All of them struggling with money but they end up helping each other when it comes to it. Helping each other with their dreams, supporting one other. I loved the old camaro, the fun dialogue, and it felt like Christmas. I love that feeling. The simple romance was nice but......
I kind of hate the ending. It's one of those endings where they make you use your imagination, which is fine. It's a love/hate relationships with those.
I had fun with this movie, it had me laughing, sad when they almost had the lottery ticket back, smiled at the sweet romance, all the round heartwarming. So I give it
