~Summary~

‘This is the entrance to the Witch Well and behind that door you’d face your worst nightmare. Don’t ever go through there.'

Night falls, the portcullis rises in the moonlight, and young Billy starts his first night as a prison guard. But this is no ordinary prison. There are haunted cells that can’t be used, whispers and cries in the night... and the dreaded Witch Well. Billy is warned to stay away from the prisoner down in the Witch Well. But who could it be? What prisoner could be so frightening? Billy is about to find out...

An unforgettable ghost story from the creator of the Wardstone Chronicles (Spook's Apprentice) series.

Illustrated throughout by the incredible Scott M Fischer, this beautifully produced book will make the perfect Halloween gift.

~My Thoughts~

*was given a copy from the author in exchange for my honest opinions*

First off I recommend borrowing this book. Yes, it’s entertaining and offers a great interesting storyline but for how many pages this is I don’t think it’s worth the $12.99+taxes. The Ghost Prison is 98pgs but seems shorter by how little is actually written and the pacing is superfast that it can be read in less than an hour.
So now that I’ve suggested that, I’ll get on with my review.
Along with the story we get greatly detailed illustrations that help magnify the creepiness of the book. Great to read at nighttime as your spine will be chilled by the ghost stories within the prison walls. You’ll be quite curious throughout and won’t be able to put it down!
The Ghost Prison will have you hooked and you’ll wish for more! I saw the ending coming and not during my reading but because I wanted to see how long this book actually was that I accidently read how it ended, so the shocking twist wasn’t so shocking for me. It’s my entire fault really, haha. But the ending made me understand more on why sometimes in the story I felt disconnected and why it was written in a certain way. But overall, this was a fantastic quick read and I’m quite curious to see what else the author has to offer!

Will disturb your being

Sweet Readings Everybody!
