~Summary~

“What gives you a thrill Kristen?”

The conclusion to the Surrender Series by Priscilla West.

No one is who they seem to be.

Kristen let Vincent into her heart because he seemed so different from everyone in her conservative world of wealth management. She thought they shared something special, but when she realizes that Vincent has been playing her the entire time, her heart is crushed.

As Kristen’s relationship with Vincent reaches a crisis point, a man from Kristen’s past returns looking for a second chance. Is her ex-boyfriend really looking for redemption or is his goal something more sinister?

Kristen struggles to hold herself together, until she discovers a revelation that will change everything.

~My Thoughts~

Though this wasn't as hot and steamy as the first two in the series, it still easily hooked me! Secret Surrender left off on an emotional note and Beautiful Surrender picked up right where it left off, making this read quite the emotional roller coaster!

In the first chapter we finally get a deeper glimpse into Kristen's and Marty's relationship. Though he wasn't yet an abusive boyfriend to her he was on the verge of it and she got out just in time. Well, that's what she thought anyways. It's been two years since she's seen him but the moment he tries to apologize she finds out he still has a hold on her. Kristen is a bit naïve throughout this one and it kind of bugged me, there were so many red flags but she was blinded. I'm all for giving people second chances but if someone mentally or physically hurts me- like Marty physically hurt her- then those people just don't deserve one. Kristen should have just slammed the door in front of Marty's face the moment she saw him and she even regretted it when she didn't. In this book she grows and finally learns to take risks.

We also finally get to know more about Vincent by meeting his sister, Giselle. The reason why he's so gung ho about protecting Kristen is because he wasn't there in time to protect his sister from getting into an abusive relationship. He keeps telling her that once an abuser, always an abuser but Kristen just won't listen to him. She learned the hard way that he was right. I was a little sad that the Ariel situation was resolved quickly, kind of felt a little duped as I wanted more things about Vincent but I get why that plot point needed to end.

Beautiful Surrender is one emotional read and though not perfect, kind of cliché, it was still a good ending to Kristen's and Vincent's story! Mrs. West kept me on my toes throughout the series and this one was no different from the previous books! The drama sucked me in, every time I had to put down my tablet I was just dying to get back to this world- especially when a chapter leaves on a cliffhanger and you just have to turn the page to find out what's going to happen next!
